Tips and tricks for using the appliances in your holiday home

Here you'll find a selection of tips on how to use the appliances.

These units are usually mounted on the ceiling, though some homes also have floor-standing units.
The remote controls work in a similar way.

Patience is key. Especially if the heating has been switched off, it can take up to 10 minutes for it to start up. Make sure that each command is acknowledged with a BEEP.

There are many different models and control systems available for underfloor heating. Most have just a single dial and are self-explanatory.

A fairly modern control system is the one from Danfoss with an LED display; a brief guide is helpful here.

Important to know: With underfloor heating, it can take up to 24 hours for a change to be noticeable. The reason for this is that the heating wires are laid up to 10 cm deep in the concrete.

The buttons aren’t exactly self-explanatory.

If you want to get into the sauna as quickly as possible, the temperature knob is key.
The timer knob allows you to set a delay.

Especially in traditional summer cottages in the dunes, the pipe diameters are often very small. If there’s too much toilet paper in the toilet, flushing can cause a blockage. The water then rises to just below the rim and sits there for a while before suddenly draining away.

Here’s a better way

Be mindful of how much paper you use and wait to flush until the paper has soaked properly. Sometimes it also helps to flush every now and then :o).

And please only put toilet paper in the toilet.
No wet wipes, panty liners, food scraps or similar – thank you.

Good to know: For the jets to work, the water must be at least 10 cm above the top jet.

Please fill the whirlpool with cold water when you leave. This applies even if you haven’t used it. Here’s why: Bacteria can build up in the pipes. This happens even when it isn’t being used.

We are therefore obliged to thoroughly clean the hot tub after every change of tenant. To ensure our staff can get straight to work, it must already be filled with water when they arrive at the house. Thank you! :o)
