Rental conditions

Arrival
You will receive the key to your holiday home at the office: 
Klitferie, Havvej 4, Vedersø Klit, 6990 Ulfborg.
Once your house is ready for occupancy, you will receive an SMS to the mobile phone number provided in the rental agreement. The house will be available to you no later than 4:00 PM.
If you arrive outside office hours, you will receive the access code for the key box via SMS (alternatively by email) when we close our office.


Payment
If the card payment option is selected during online booking, the full amount will be charged.
If paying by bank transfer, 1/3 of the rental price is due at the time of booking, and 2/3 must be paid no later than 6 weeks before arrival.
If the booking is made up to 3 weeks before arrival, the full amount is due at the time of booking.


Processing Fee
A processing fee of €31.00 is charged when the rental agreement is issued.

 

Departure
The house is available to you until 10:00 AM on the day of departure. Please return the key to the Klitferie office. We will also conduct the final settlement for consumption costs and any additional costs incurred during your stay.

 

Handling and Shipment of Forgotten Items

Should you leave personal items in the holiday home after your departure, these will be collected and stored by us for 6 months. If you wish to have the forgotten items sent by post, a processing fee of 300 DKK (approximately 40 EUR) will be charged for the handling, packaging, and shipping of your belongings, in addition to any applicable postage costs.

The exact shipping costs depend on:

  • Weight and size of the package
  • Destination country and shipping method

Payment of the fees must be made before your belongings are shipped.


Cleaning
If you arrive outside the opening hours of the Klitferie office, you waive your right as a tenant to lodge complaints regarding cleaning.
If you wish to order final cleaning, this must be done at the time of booking or at the latest 5 days before departure. The price for final cleaning can be found online. On www.klitferie.com, it is listed for each individual house when you click on 'Start Booking'.

Everything you need to do before departure regarding cleaning, whether you clean the house yourself or have ordered cleaning, can be found in your welcome folder.
In any case, you must empty the trash cans, unload the dishwasher, and clean the oven and stove. Our tip: Use baking paper and roasting bags.

Cleaning supplies and cloths are not provided in the house; guests must bring their own.
All furniture and items must be returned to their original positions upon departure (taking a photo with your phone can help you remember everything).

If there is a hot tub in the house, it must be filled with cold water on the day of departure before you leave. This applies for hygiene reasons even if you have not used the hot tub.

Complaints regarding cleaning must be reported to Klitferie no later than 60 minutes after arrival and always before moving into the holiday home. In the event of a complaint, Klitferie will inspect the holiday home and arrange additional cleaning if necessary.

 

Energy / Water Consumption etc.
Water, electricity, oil, geothermal heating, pellet heating, and similar utilities are listed on the consumption statement and billed according to usage.


Number of Persons in the Holiday Home
At no time may more people stay overnight in the house than the number specified online for this property. Overcrowding will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement. Up to 2 children under 3 years of age sleeping in a crib do not count toward this limit. Overnight guests must be registered with Klitferie.

Liability
During the rental period, the tenant is responsible for the house and its furnishings. If damage occurs, please report it immediately to the Klitferie office. This also applies to kitchen and decorative items. We will charge you for damaged items at the final settlement in the office, based on the replacement cost. If you discover damage from a previous tenant, please report it to the Klitferie office within 24 hours of your arrival.

Cancellation Terms
Up to 60 days before arrival: If the contract is cancelled, a cancellation fee of 25% of the total rental price, minimum €100, will be charged. A rebooking to a different rental property or a different date can be made for a fee of €75 (€150 for pool houses).
1 to 59 days before arrival: The rental agreement can no longer be cancelled. The tenant is obligated to pay the full rental price to Klitferie.

Insurance

2026
When you book a holiday home with Klitferie, you have the option to purchase travel cancellation insurance from CODAN Travel Insurance. This covers cancellations before and during your stay if you become ill or must cancel the rental agreement due to serious illness in your family.
The premium for this insurance is 6% of the rental amount. It cannot be refunded if the rental agreement is cancelled.

2027
The cancellation insurance with Codan Forsikring is mandatory and included in the rental agreement. It covers cancellation and holiday interruption. The applicable insurance terms and conditions can be found on the website: https://www.klitferie.com/en/info/travel-insurance/
The insurance costs will not be refunded in case of rebooking or cancellation of the rental agreement.

 

High Chair / Child Travel Bed
You can borrow a child's bed or high chair free of charge from us. These items will be handed over to you at the Klitferie office upon your arrival. Upon departure, borrowed items must be returned here; otherwise, a pickup fee of €40.00 per item will be charged.

 

Bed Linen
Rental per person for bed linen with towels: €21.00
Please note: The laundry bag must be returned to the office upon departure. Otherwise, a pickup fee of €40.00 per bag will be charged.


Defects
Unfortunately, electrical items in the house may break down. In such cases, please contact the office immediately. We will have the damage repaired as quickly as possible.
Please understand that this may sometimes take a few days, especially in connection with weekends and holidays, or if a replacement part needs to be ordered.

 

Pets
On the website www.klitferie.com, you can see for each house whether pets are generally allowed, and if so, whether one or two are permitted. Use the filter function to find houses that meet your requirements.

Please note: Cats are sometimes not allowed, even if pets are generally permitted. If you wish to bring a cat, please read the house descriptions carefully and mention it in the remarks field during booking.

Please call us if you wish to bring more than 2 pets; we will clarify with the owner whether that is possible.
Please note: If more pets are in the house than stated, this may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement. Please respect when the text refers to "small pets." If in doubt, simply ask us.

Important to know: Even in a house where no pets are allowed, it is possible that the owner has an animal that occasionally stays in the holiday home.

Animals are generally not allowed on furniture or in beds. We recommend treating your pets against fleas during your vacation or putting a flea collar on them. If flea infestation is detected in the house, the last tenant with pets must pay for pest control. The owner cannot be held responsible for flea infestation caused by a tenant.

Pets must never be left alone in the holiday home.

We ask that you thoroughly clean the house before departure. Remember that the guests after you may not have pets and also want to move into a clean house. Even if you have booked a cleaning service, you must vacuum the entire house before your departure. Failure to do so may result in an additional cleaning fee of €50.00.

Property
Some houses have a garden with lawn, while others have natural ground with heather and tall grass.
It is strictly forbidden to camp on the property. The number of persons specified for the house must be observed. Any violation will result in immediate termination of the rental agreement without compensation.
For properties with lawn, it is common in summer for the grass to be mowed during your rental period. Please understand that this may cause some disruption during your vacation.


Play Equipment
The use of play equipment on the holiday home property is at your own risk.


Noise
Not everyone is on vacation, so construction work, renovations, or the building of a new holiday home in the neighborhood may occur during your stay. Unfortunately, we cannot prevent this, and therefore cannot be held responsible for it.

 

General Information

Holiday Home
Bathrooms can vary greatly. In older houses, the shower is often located in a corner of the bathroom and is only equipped with a curtain.

Bedrooms also vary considerably: double beds range from 140 cm to 180 cm, single beds from 70 cm to 90 cm wide, and the length varies between 180 and 200 cm. The kitchen and living room are equipped according to the needs and requirements of each owner. Therefore, not everything that you may consider standard in your everyday life is always available in a holiday home. Some houses are very well equipped, while others are more basic.


Television
Our televisions generally receive 2 Danish channels. If the house is equipped with a satellite dish, some German channels are available, but not all. In the unlikely event that you experience problems with the television or satellite dish upon arrival, please understand that technicians are off duty from Friday evening through the weekend and cannot address your issue until Monday at the earliest.

Internet

Internet access is free of charge in holiday homes equipped with it. There may be occasional outages. Internet connection speeds can vary significantly from one holiday home to another. Neither Klitferie nor the property owner can be held liable for this.

Wood-burning stove

Only dry hardwood should be used in the stove – never wood found on the beach, as residual moisture and high salt content will damage the stove. It may be the case that the stove has not been fully cleaned by the time you arrive. This is because of the risk of fire caused by hot ashes in the bin. If you have any questions about the individual properties, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Utility shed

There is often a utility shed on the property.

Please note:
These buildings are not always available for the tenant’s use. Homeowners sometimes use them to store their own personal belongings. The same applies to individual rooms that are locked or cupboards that are locked.


Standard fittings

Coffee machine, small freezer compartment in the fridge (some properties have a separate freezer), hob, oven, shower, duvets and pillows for the number of people the property is normally designed to accommodate (duvets and pillows usually show slight signs of wear).


Garden furniture

A table and chairs or a bench are usually provided. Some properties have two sun loungers. Cushions for the garden furniture are often not included. If there is a barbecue at the property, it must be used with the utmost care. Please ensure you always extinguish it with water when you have finished. It is the tenant’s responsibility to keep the barbecue clean. We accept no responsibility for the condition of the barbecue, but recommend the use of
barbecue trays.

The weather on the coast is often changeable. Therefore, please take particular care with the parasol and garden cushions. If these are provided in the house, you, as the tenant, are liable for any damage during the rental period.

 

Shopping

During the winter months, the journey to the shops may be slightly longer than stated, as some local shops are closed from November to Easter.


Rubbish

There are special bins at the building for waste separation, and sometimes collection points as well.

general waste – organic waste – tins/metal – paper – cardboard – glass.

Residual waste is collected approximately every 14 days in summer and every 4 weeks in winter.


Nature

Staying in a holiday home means living close to nature, so you may find crawling and flying insects in and around the house. Klitferie cannot be held responsible for this.

Important: Mosquito nets must not be attached to windows or window frames. If there are any residues from mosquito nets, the tenant will be charged for the cost of cleaning or replacing the frame.

Here in Denmark, there is a small snake native to the area, the common European adder. Do not touch it; its bite is venomous. If your pet is bitten, seek veterinary treatment, e.g.

Beach

The beach in this area is partly sandy and partly pebbly. Access to the beach is free of charge. Dogs must be kept on a lead so as not to disturb other guests. Please use only the designated paths in the area. The dunes are very fragile. Therefore, do not let children slide down them or play on the slopes. Dogs should also not be allowed to dig here.

Holidays with dogs

Please always pick up after your dog. This applies to the grounds around the holiday home as well as if your dog relieves itself on the road or path. Simply dispose of the bags in the general waste bin.

Please note: Dogs must be kept on a lead.


Hundeskov – Dog forest

There is a lovely dog forest in Husby Klitplantage. In the dog forests dogs are allowed to run off the lead, provided you have full control over them at all times.


Bicycle hire

You can hire bicycles directly from the Klitferie office.


Fishing

We have separate freezers available to hire for €50 each.


Illness

Please bring your health insurance card with you.


Jurisdiction

The place of jurisdiction is the Danish courts in Ringkøbing or Holstebro.


Force majeure

If Klitferie is prevented from making the holiday home available due to circumstances that can be classified as force majeure and which were not known at the time the rental agreement was concluded, Klitferie may cancel the booked holiday in exchange for a voucher for the amount of the rent paid. The same applies if the tenant is unable to reach the holiday home due to such circumstances.

This voucher must be redeemed within 12 months of the circumstances leading to the cancellation of the planned holiday ceasing to apply. It may only be used to pay for a new holiday with Klitferie. Any amount paid for travel cancellation insurance will not be transferred to the voucher. The processing fee paid will also not be transferred to the voucher, but is retained by Klitferie.

Force majeure includes, but is not limited to, war, strikes, natural disasters, epidemics, pandemics, public restrictions and similar events which result in the tenant being unable to travel or in Klitferie being unable to make the holiday home available to the tenant without incurring significant costs.


Printing errors

We reserve the right to correct printing errors, including those relating to prices and facilities, as well as to adjust prices in the event of significant exchange rate fluctuations.
