Bring the dog with you on your holiday

The dog is often called man's best friend and is often a natural part of the family. It is the children's playmate, a good walking and running companion and an eminent foot warmer for the cold evenings. Therefore, the dog must of course also take part in the holiday - regardless of the season.

Many of our holiday homes have dogs allowed - at no extra cost to you as a tenant.

Eldorado for dogs

If you rent a holiday home by the North Sea, we think it is an Eldorado for dogs. Our holiday homes in Vester Husby all have a plot size of minimum 5000 m2, and there is therefore a lot of space to have the dog with you and let it feel the fresh air. Some of our holiday homes even have fenced grounds so you can just let your four-legged friend run free. In Husby Klitplantage you will also find a nice dog forest that the dog definitely wants to visit.

If you want space for you and your dog, we suggest that you visit one of the many beautiful places where you have the beach closest to yourself.

You can for example visit Græm beach in Vester Husby, where you must take a beautiful walk through the dune landscape to get there. It is not optimal for wheelchair users, but your best friend will definitely thank you for the many wonderful impressions. Bear in mind that Græm beach is a naturist beach.

Kærgaard Strand is located a little further south, and since it is not a naturist beach, you can often be lucky to only have to share the area with a few others - or have it all to yourself. It is definitely a wonderful experience - for both you and the dog.

From October 1st to March 31st, the dog is allowed to run free on the beach as long as you have it under control. We are sure your four-legged friend will enjoy a walk on the beach and a quick dip in the North Sea.

Husby Klitplantage

In Husby Klitplantage there are also many nice paths and routes you can use with the dog. The routes are all marked with colored spots on trees and poles and vary in length from 1.5 km to 6.5 km. Depending on which route you choose, you will encounter different types of landscapes, both dune and heath landscapes as well as different types of forest. Denmark's westernmost beech grove is for example located in Husby Klitplantage. There are also several viewpoints on the routes such as "Marens Maw" and "Nøgenbjerg".

If you take the dog for a walk in Husby Klitplantage, you must remember to keep it on a leash for the sake of the forest's game.

The dog in the holiday home

When you bring your dog to the holiday home, there are some things you need to be bear in mind. For example, that the dog cannot be alone in the cottage. In addition, there are some things that can be good to remember to bring, here you could check our packing list which gives a comprehensive overview of everything you need to bring. But the dog will at least appreciate having its basket with it, food and water bowl and maybe some toys that can help to give the dog some familiar setting and make it feel more comfortable in the new setting.
